Aye aye,
Just thought I'd say hello, had a couple of freelanders in the past, but finally bit the bullet and got a 10 year old Td5. Being a mechanical novice ( to be very kind indeed) I thought best to sign up and say hello, guessing I'll be asking alot of basic questions in the next while, but looking forward to participating where i can.
All the best,
Shroom.

defender 90, first night of rain here, slight leak off the end of the brake pedal, but otherwise watertight, quite surprised, was expecting more damp patches.

I likes precious i do.

Hi Shroom (magic?)

Welcome tae the madhoose. One of the first things you'll be told is to use the search facility (it can be a bit of a pain to find stuff until you get used to it.)

Cheers All, in Fyvie Scotsman, I've been wading through alot of the 90 infoclanforbes, some very usefull stuff, and a fair bit that I hope I never have to deal with :)

The shroom comes from an old nickname of McMushroom due to a specifically grim haircut in the early 90s, that resembled the back end of a hovis loaf or a mushroom when viewed from assorted angles. A grade 0 these days and all the better for it.

I did the same before I joined LZ. I spent many many hours trolling old posts and watching YouTube videos. I pass your way often through the night on my way to chicken farms in your area.

Anyway, welcome to the mad hoose. Thick skin and a good sense of humour is a definite must have, but they are a great bunch of lads on here.

Aye, same with most forums, been a member of a few brutal ones in the past, always a pleasure to get to know new characters, chat with folk and learn a bit along the way. A thick skin and good sense of humour will acheive more in life than a snotty attitude ever will.

Too true. I never felt I had been accepted on here for months after I'd joined. No-one had ever had a go at me, so when someone else was moaning about it, I put in my official complaint and got plenty of stick and insults thrown at me. Made me feel like part of the "clan."

Kinell, next door then. Is that you that drives past in a green 90 about 05:30 in the morning? One passes the house just as I am about to hit the road most days.
