Hello all my names Martin and I'm finally about to join this community. I've always been a fan of land rover, my dad worked there since I was a nipper where we went on open days at the plant. I've worked there myself briefly and done a few off road experience days and finally am in a position to buy my own and begin a project. Will be getting a disco td5 within the next couple weeks to make my own to keep and will be annoying you with questions shortly.
I have been reading through this forum for a while and doing research but will most likely discover what I can about anything I need to know then ask a final question to get a more up to date response so sorry in advance if this frustrates anyone.
My plan is for a subtle lift, moderate tyres, winch bumper/bumpers, side exit-spots-arhes at first then maybe prep as a bug out truck with survival equipment over time. For now though I'm looking for a tidy interior so won't be going mad in deep water any time soon. Will be asking a question about shocks soon.
Will add that I'm a tool maker by trade with access to a full manufacturing workshop which has various machine's, and have the ability to use pretty much all of and as time goes on in may well get into taking full advantage of my work place and engineering some custom parts. They are used to me doing foreigners by now so will look forward to what the imagination comes up with. I'm also on Instagram under the name monkeyportions, don't put much on there but there are a few posts of projects I've done lately with photos or videos.
