Abandoned in a field

Just done a check cant find nothing got a mate seeing if its got a registered keeper if not. Then you need to apply to dvla and police so they can find previous owner. If they cant after 30 days its yours

Only if it's on your land.. if it's on someone elses land you can't touch it fullstop. if it's on public land it becomes the property and responsibility of the local council's highways department.

If it's on private land then you have no right to "claim" or otherwise acquire any body else's vehicle. Regardless of the state it's in or the length of time it's been parked/abandoned there..

You do if yer the agent f the land owner;)

there's a ****ty old 88" SWB series in a field not far from here Might have to claim that as it's just sitting there doing nowt... :D

Ya can't claim it ya bastid....it contains rare and mysterious botanical specimens and is presently being studied as a source of potentially life-saving medicines :p

Now who mentioned anything illegal at the start of this? It would be easy enough to find the land owner then ask, Knowing killerjoules has no room to store it and I have a secure barn to put it in not far from where it is.

Or did I miss the bit where somebody said drag it onto a trailer and hide it  I don't think so.

So back under your rock

When i checked last with the dvla, being registered keeper doesnt mean you own the vehicle, so the real owner could theoretically get you pinched for pinching their landy even if dvla had you on the v5.
You cant just go claiming stuff on someone's land! Thats pinching in my book

Impossible to prove owner ship on a vehicle this old.

ask landowner if its his. If not it illegally abandoned :)

Lets turn this around would you rather another series rusted into nothing more than a mouse home. Or I took it and rebuilt it to it's former British glory?

It was a 2.25 petrol, looks like ex army, possibly 1 tonne from the rear spring hangers. The rear axle casing was resting on concrete blocks for some reason.

Moderately rotten, but as folk say, restorable in the right hands. Just two fields up from the Scouts Braid Wood campsite.

No I do NOT condone theft, the land rover was in a horse paddock with a puclic footpath through it. I would recommend talking to the owner of the riding school stables just up from it to find out its provenance.

That's not been there long. It's not "green" enough on the white paint, the grass around and under it isn't long enough or dead enough, tyres still look good and no loss of air from them,
