Greetings,
Ive decided I need to upgrade my alternator, and the mondeo 90A seems like a good idea. However, I will need to drill out the 15mm LR pulley to 17mm to match the mondeo 17mm shaft size. I want to keep the original alternator and pulley in-tact just in case the worse should happen lol. Does anybody know either where to get either a spare 15mm pulley for less than the ~£30 LR wants to extort out of me or even better a 17mm pulley? Interestingly ive found a pulley on a mini spares site Parts for Mini • Alternator Lucas A115/45, A127/45 - Alternator Lucas A115/45, A127/45 - SC Parts and another Moss Europe, Ltd - Classic Parts for Classic, MX-5, MGF, Mini, MGB for the A127/45. The question of course is will it fit? Maybe with the British Leyland connection?

So spill the beans guys!

Cheers :D

I haven't looked that closely at the pulley but they're made in two halves spot welded together. You'd have to make sure you dint machine the welds out when opening the hole up. I want gonna pay that kind of money for a pulley so had one made, it's odd how the power steering pulley is cheaper. An I dunno about the mini ones, you've got to think about the spacing of the pulley on the shaft to keep it in line with the other pullies.

I emailed another company asking the size of the pulley @ MGF parts, cheap mg car spares & car accessories - UK They emailed back the dimensions "The pulley is 2.51" (63.8mm) in diameter and 0.555" (14.1mm) thick." So i got the caliper out and measured the one on the landy atm, and they are equal. So i think il go ahead and order that, at £7.52 inc postage its an absolute bargain compared to the land rover specific pulley! Il keep you updated.

Over and out!
