A-frame cross member repair part

My 1990 127 Defender is having some welding done following its MOT. The repair garage tell me it needs what they described as a 'A-frame Cross Member' apparently situated behind the double cab. They can't get one from any of their usual suppliers. I wondered if anyone had any ideas on obtaining one. Thanks.
