Will this bloody thing never stop

The book came of then i got so ****ed with it i gave it a thump (well it works with the puter) light went off, then on then off then........ well its off now, and no a/c not hot air just ambient air, i suspect the clutch, can you just get the clutch? been looking in the net and cant find one, anyone know where to get a kit from??

there is a fix where you take a washer off the pump's spindle or clutch, might be worth googling that!!

Compressor Clutch Failure:Another common A/C problem is insufficient voltage to the magnetic compressor clutch; as the disk and pulley gap increases with wear the available magnetic flux has to bridge a larger gap. There is an official Land Rover fix for this in the shape of an additional wiring harness which dedicates a new circuit, with its own relay (relay #10 in the engine fusebox), to the magnetic clutch. you can remove the shim washer from behind the disk and flexure plate to reduce the gap. The shim washer fits to the centre boss of the plate.

Ok nice one thanks for that, i did see it earlier though, i just rung up the guy that did my a/c last time, he was well happy i bet ringing him on a Sunday!! he seems to remember there were some wiring problems with the clutch, he took the cover/box off, and stuck some araldite on it, or something, i what humming at him on the other end of the phone pretending im all knowledgeable, when i didn't have a bloody clue what he was jabbering on about, anyway it worked for 3 months, he says its a 50/50 thing, so i need this electrical gubbings in this box now replacing, he is going price it up for me on Monday, and says it could be the clutch as well as he thinks the splines may also have ware on them too and might also need to be replaced

Welcome to the "Never ending story"

Tis the clutch on the motor (on the phone diagnoses) a little unfair he knows the car and the problems, not showing the book it is coming on i can see the rev counter going up as is kicks in (note i haven't got to the price fix yet) so the motor is working as it should be, will this washer thing work (taking it out) and will i have to re-gas it if i do it? looking for the part (clutch) but i will have to research what motor i have and the part number(97 P38 DSE Auto if anyone knows!! ) and see if i can get one, if i do is this a skilled job? i have no more funds for this so im kinda stumped, i have already to be honest spent far too much on getting this right (i don't like to say, its bloody embarrassing) anyway this is gona cost me £350 so i will just have to open the windows and live with it until the day i become more flush and throw ££ at it again, i will still to the bearing transfer box as that's quite cheep (in comparison) so ho hum, its the slippery slope me thinks to i cant do this on it or that, then its just all too much and sell it of, and that's what i don't want to do
