Had a quick look on similar issues but wonder if anyone can advise what is making the slight ticking noise in the engine compartment?

Tried to start the car a week ago and it all went horribly wrong. Reached the point where I had the dreaded 'B' symbol with the diagonal line through it.

Past experience led me to believe that the BCU had failed (yet again!)

The car has been sitting on the drive the past week and in that time the battery has totally discharged. Tried charging it and it is very slow to charge. Disconnected negative terminal and it isn't much better.

Tried wife's car battery (with jump leads) and got a reaction but obviously not enough ooomph to start.

The odd thing is - the 'B' with the diagonal line has gone which makes me wonder if there is something simply draining the battery and it isn't the BCU?

I have noticed a slight click noise which isn't coming from the engine bay fuse/relay box but seems to be more like behind the dash board.

I don't think it is the footwell fuse box so if anyone can suggest what it might be I need to look for I would be really grateful.
