Hi everyone, im new here and have just purchased my first Land Rover Freelander 1.8 k series (1998) and cant for the life of me suss how to work the key fobs.

Would someone be able to give me an idea of how to set the alarm and lock the doors because sometimes the alarm activates and sometimes the doors just lock with no alarm and sometimes i have to press the unlock button a few times to open doors. Is this normal.

I never got a manual so im pretty stuck. :(

Thanks for your help

1) press left hand button once to unlock drivers door only
2) press left hand button again to unlock rest of doors
3) press right hand button once to lock the vehicle and set the alarm (this also deadlocks the doors)

If you want to lock the vehicle without deadlocks or setting the alarm, use the key in the drivers door and give it a little turn anti-clockwise to lock it. Give it another turn and it will deadlock and alarm.

If the dashboard beeps and the red led flashes when you unlock and open the drivers door using the fob remote control, the battery in the remote needs replacing, CR2032.

Good Luck

I've never really looked t myself as being a god:rolleyes:;):p

Dunno about planning nuptuals, More like digging the escape tunnels.:D:D:D

It's been absolutely crazy at work. This is the first shift that I've had time to login since the run up to the Glastonbury festival. At least the overtime is available to me again. :)
Unfortunately the missus is breaking stuff faster than I can earn the money to pay for it. Just had to buy a new fridge and get her a new watch.
