96' disco driversd window

96' 300tdi disco
had problems with my drivers window same as this thread

now the window wont open at all although i can hear motor running, sounds like its come of the runners, could someone please give some advice on fixing it, passenger side is on the way too so i will do that one while doing drivers.

if both windows are showing symptoms on opoening shutting get two window regulators ,and a few clips that hold door card on as your bound to bust a few on removing door card is held by 2 screws in door handle 1 screw door latch and clips which if you start at bottom you can prise apart,with door card off remove plastic sheet carefully ,adjust window till you can get at 2 x 8 mm headed bolts holding window carrier to regulator ,slacken bolts and slide sideways till regulator can come away from window ,pull window up and wedge in place, leave motor connected so uyou can use switch to adjust regulator to help with removal after undoing bolts securing it

I had this problem on mine yesterday. The glass is crimped to the runner! my runner came apart and was laying in the bottom of the door and the glass was resting on the
regulator.. so i replaced the glass with runner attached. after taking the door card off and two bolts on the lock side of the door and one bolt on the hinger side of the door undoing the electric window. Reomve the window trim and you can pull the window frame up and out the main door with the glass the glass slides out ready to replace with new and then ease the glass with frame back into the top of the door loosely so the regulator can work its way into the runner.
