Hi out there. I'm new to this site but have read it lots seems like this is the place for sound advice. Have just bought a 95 classic vogue se which I'm recommissioning after what looks like 4 years or so off the road. Replaced the air springs but seem to be getting what sounds like the noise of a small motor running intermittently in between the right quarter inner and outer panels by the filler cap. Not sure if this is suspension related. The car levels etc with no problem, though it was a little saggy after i left it for a few days last week - not much though. Also, the car lags/misses between two and a half to three thousand revs sometimes. I've replaced the air flow meter but no joy......any ideas out there?

Many thanks

Simon :)

Blimey! That was quick!

Thanks for that. Fuel pump was my first though and seems to be whirring away happily, this noise seems louder and appears to be higher up and behind the quarter panel.....near the sub woofer. Is there anything up there which is electro-mechanical? Pump/valve/solenoid maybe???

Thanks again

Simon:)

The EAS Pump is mounted in a box under the drivers door, the Petrol Filler cap door is held in with a solenid, The Sub woofer could be humming if there is a little earth leakage in the connections to it....erm....

Depending on model or type, it may have a fuel tank evap system....this contains a small pump depending on type...I attach a couple of diagrams....

Thats about it I would imagine....

Thanks ever so much for that. Gonna look further tomorrow, diagrams look really useful. Releasing the filler cap a turn seems to have quietened things a bit but I'm beginning to wonder if its the eas pump as it's making a bit of noise......think I'm just gonna have to pull a few things apart!

Regards

Simon

The noise is proberly the eas inlet filter as the pump is proberly well worn and the noise is the resonance from the comp replace the filter as it could also be locked
Also remove the comp and check that as the seal mite be well worn
