The central lockings dead on my 93 classic and was wondering if anyone knows where the control unit is fitted? ( the fuse is ok;) ).also when did they start fitting the remote locking to classics and is this part of the same control unit?

hi there firstly does it operate off the passenger door . if not then the problem is to do with the main feed or earth form the fuse box but for one quick check is if your electric windows are working then the feed is ok . there is no control unit for the central locking there is a main switch unit built into the drivers door actuator so if the central locking works off the passenger door then it will be the drivers side actuator which is quite common if you require anything else let me know and i will post a wiring diagram for it hope this helps chris

Thanks for the reply Chris,The central locking is totaly dead from all doors/fuel flap.I will take the drivers door trim off and have a look whats there.I might take you up on the wiring diagrams if no joy with door actuator.

Mine has packed up now as well, but the fuel flap still works, 1 pair of actuators coming up (the passenger door has never worked), anybody recommend a good mail order company? (92 classic vogue SE)

I've found a control unit behind the stowage tray next to the ignition lock, also a few relays and the alarm module lives there. If i don't have any luck with the drivers actuator i'll be swapping the unit.
