I recently purchased an 03 90 td5 which so far I have been very impressed with. But occasionally when I set off in either first or reverse when I dip the clutch it wont come out of gear and then starts to move again even with my foot all the way down on the clutch. If I let my foot off and pump the pedal it comes out fine and can then drive off no problem. It can be a bit difficult if youve backed up close to something and it wants to keep going then I have to switch the engine off and again pump thr clutch and its fine. I am told its most likely the master cylinder but I have inspected it and cany see any visible leaks. should I just change the master and slave cylinder as there pretty cheap but will this solve the problen.

Would appriciate any advice

Thanks
Tim

PS anyone no of any alloys going for sale let me no. Thanks

Have you tried bleeding the air out of the hydraulics?
Also try replacing your fluids as brake/clutch fluid ages.

How does your gear lever feel - I lost most of my gears due to the grub screw in the linkage coming loose/out, but when this happened my lever felt like it was stirring porridge. Reverse went first then 2nd and 4th - then I got stuck in 1st.

Hope something here helps.

Ron.
