Hi all,

Just picked up my second landy today, a 90 pickup with a retro-fit 300TDi.

It's sweet as, just has no stereo... has anyone got any pictures of a stereo/speaker set up in the cab of a pickup?

I've just ordered Universal ISO Underdash Tray for Stereo fit on eBay, also, Fascia Plates, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Jun-09 22:00:11 BST)

Will that fit in the dashboard (i.e. where the outside-y vent-y things are), or will it have go go 'underneath' the dash?

Also need some ideas for placement of speakers, a couple of mids and a couple of 6x9s. I'll be using the car as my daily driver as well as for fun so I could do with a semi-decent sound to stop me going bonkers.

Cheers!

that might fit between the vent flaps !! , as for speakers you could make your own cubby box and fit them in there . but your very limited being a truck cab .

yep that will fit in the dash, i removed mine a while back and fitted one of these

as for the speakers i two 6x9's behind the seats, gunna put them in the cubbybox when i get the time

i also have a truck cab and find space is limited! Anyone got any ideas where to fit sum speakers?? ive got 2 5" speakers in the door but they dont give out much sound, plus they get wet when wading :p. cheers

Thanks for the replies, I ordered an in-dash cradle thing from ebay.... only to find they have the exact same thing for the same price in Halfords

I think I'm going to go for two 10cm speakers in the roof lining and two either behind or underneath the seats.

If I put them behind the seats (bearing in mind I have a pickup) would they fit without cutting into the back wall....?

One other thing, where is it best to get a feed from for the cigarette lighter socket? It's not hooked up at the minute. I've identified the cables for the stereo.

Oh, and I've removed a CB radio from the roof lining. It's looks like a decent one with LCD screen for tuning: Anyone want to make me an offer?

Tell me to shut up if i'm being thick, but aren't there only two connectors on the back of the cig socket? But three wires?

For mounting yer speakers, ye've really only got a couple of options... here...

...if ye don't go down the cubby box route.
Mines used to be a truck cab before it was converted and only had the speakers above my head.;)

Cheers for the pics, appreciate it. How about the three wires onto two connectors for the lighter socket!?
