hey all sold me car for a nice 300tdi of a local farmer who had it from new i knew everything it done which was sweet fa

but been looking for a tidy 200/ 300 tdi but they like there prices

so i been driving my dad terrano :/ that he bought because his 1988 90 needed tlc but while the prices are to high for me i thought to use my money to do my dads up list i know so far

bulkhead - rusty and holed
seat box - battery held on by the leads :(
all shockers f**ked it like driving a boncy castle
few out riggers sight rusted holes
a farm landy so guess what it looks like

i got bulk head corrners here cause we was going to do it but didn't have the time
bought a 90 for £150 for spares so use the seat box out of that
as the suspention is shot i thought a nice full suspention +2" kit but i don't want a cheap springs and dampers been looking at the extreme 4x4 Evolution Kit but not springs or dampers they any good ?
i can patch the chassie up as much as poss b4 a change the chassie but it in on the menu for the futre + a 300tdi with autobox but just want it to use atm

so whats ppl thought or advise anyone like to sare to help me out

Terra firma for the lift kit But why do you want to Lift it?? it won't increase ground clearance at all. Are you planning on fitting huge tyres on it?? Or doing extreme winch challenges?? If not don't bother, it'll manage perfectly well with std shocks and springs and won't shove your insurance thru the roof.

If you want to lift it, then go ahead and use a good value/quality setup (Terrafirma Springs/Shox V.Good) - but, frankly, its more show than go.

Decent Std Shocks and Springs (Again Terrafirma are a good value package) with some good tyres and driver training would be a prudent use of funds.

Although I had prudence once....lovely girl

haha thanks ppl just been offered a td5 for £1300 no tax of mot so ????
but it will be done with it 2" higher what will it be like on corners on roads ??

Definitely buy it if it looks like it will pass an MOT fairly easily.
As for the lift, Get some off set modulars or wheel spacers before you lift it or you could end up on the roof.

You've got to ask yourself why you want to lift it. Good quality standard shocks and springs would be my recommendation. Surprisingly, Land Rover did know what they were doing when they designed these things. :)

A lifted Landy is never as nice to drive on the road as one on std set up.

and as per previous replies one on std springs and shocks will very rarely let you down off road.

He said he got offered a td5 with no MOT.

Yes and the offsets or it'll roll over comment. Just cos you've still got stabilisers on ya push bike. doesn't mean everyother fooker needs em anorl

remember it's better to remain quiet and be thought an idiot. Than to open ya mouth and prove it beyond all doubt. (Or type in this case)

I didn't literally mean it will definitely roll over. It was obviously an exaggeration. You can't deny it will be unstable.

not necessarily just fitting HD springs all round will lift a 90 by almost 2" and it'll be as stable as a std 90. fit 2" ****part springs and it'll only actually rise half an inch cos the fooker will sag so fast.

If he was considering putting a 5" lift on then it would be better off with offset rims. I would never recommend spacers to anybody.

But your original post was a crock of ****e. If your gonna give advice you could at least try and sound like you know what the fook ya on about..

haha thanks for the comments that sorted that then standed hight it will be , what a good made that don't cost the earth , and the cones on the front top of the spring the shocker bolts to are rusty and one snapped what the hd ones like ?
