My week is getting worse and worse. My drive has 7 vehicles on it, 4 are long term projects but 3 are daily's. Anyhow another 2 off the road (xc90 alternator pulley blew up!) and now the 110 CSW start a leak from the fuel tank. Its bloody filthy under there (I know i should have cleaned and rust proofed it) but aa diesel leak is coming from the top of the tank. I think its only when full. Any ideas what's the likely leak source?

Getting to the top of the tank on a 110 is such fun. Might break out the grinder and cut through the rear floor, I mean diesel aint really flammable :)

Assuming it’s the return leaking? And if she is running ok it probably is, you could jury rig a separate return pipe along the chassis then feed it up to the fuel cap at the back, at least it would keep it on the road until you could drop the tank,

Oh its still on the road. Just as long as I don't fill the tank then its fine. At least its a diesel, had similar problem in a 109 hicap i drove from suffolk to Cumbria and that was petrol!! I dont smoke!

Given it does not leak when fuel is low then more likely sender or pickup unit seal and not the pipe. Or a hole in the tank top.

Good point but not necessarily correct, with a full tank of fuel the fuel return pipe will be under more pressure to return the fuel to the tank so would likely leak, ( if corroded) whereas if the fuel level was low it would flow much easier with less pressure build up,
But it’s all fairly Academic as we all agree the tank needs dropping to check the sender unit seal and feed and return pipes
