OK,

The gearbox is back in the car, these are just a few pics before it went in, showing the new adaptor plate in situ

Thank you very much, I appreciate the vote of confidence :) Anyone from Land Rover listening ? Any job offers ? ;)

@dave658 I am humbled, that is exemplary engineering. I remember being pleased as punch at teaching myself picbasic to build a transmission controller; but you have a whole plethora of controllers in there many of which make my transmission controller look like a cheap digital watch. It really is mind blowingly impressive engineering you are putting into this project which is a true inspiration.

I hope you dont mind me asking, but where are you getting your lights made/modded at as one of my projects is going to need some bespoke back light clusters made for it and your lights look OE build quality which is the fit and finish I'm pursuing on this other vehicle.

Any updates on this Dave?

Well it has been a while since I did an update, I was supposed to be showing her as the Peterborough show, but she was damaged while being loaded on the truck

She has been in the bodyshop every since, the only one I trust with her very custom body panels and paintwork. They are quite busy, so the work is slow, and it has been unbelievably frustrating to not have her here on my driveway so I can work on her, but she needs to be perfect, so hey-ho !

Hopefully I'll get her back in January and the progress can continue

Well thank you, it has been a labour of love !

I don't mind at all, I am more than happy to share where all of the work has been done.

The front lights were modded by Headlight Retrofits Ltd - http://www.headlightretrofits.org.uk/

The rear ones were done by Brightlight Customs - http://www.brightlight-customs.co.uk/

Hope that helps

If this was @tomcat59alan s thread then I'd venture he was deliberately keeping us in suspenders, :D:D

C'mon @dave658 , update time!;)
No-one is more frustrated than me to be honest. She has been in the paint shop since the end of last year, where a combination of her sheer size and the fact that she's being fixed up on "mates rates" mean that I constantly get bumped by "real jobs". It's frustrating for me, because while she's there, I cant really do any work on her, and every weekend feels wasted. I've been consoling my self with some mods and updates to my daily drive, but I need her back so I can get her finished !

I haven't done an update for a while, and as I finally got glass in the monster today, I thought I would add some pics

IMG_1207_tn.jpg

All the back windows are blacked-out limo glass, which I think looks good in the colour scheme, the fronts are of course a much gentler shade which looks a little odd, but keeps the police happy ! :)

IMG_1209_tn.jpg

The windscreen is of course not tinted, but is heated - must get around to painting the headlight trim and bumper caps at some point ! I have a new and rather special grille to go on at some point too, but I'll save that for a later update :)

Another side view, there are new wheels to come of course, but again, more on that later

IMG_1213_tn.jpg

And the back, the registration is not valid any more of course as DVLA have deemed that she is going to be Q reg, and the rear light clusters are out, as they are currently being modded, again something really special coming in a future update !

So now she is water-tight ! this is a major milestone and means I can work on the interior even if it's raining ! I'm expecting to seriously accelerate progress now !
