Not seen it done to discos but I have to defenders and classic rangeys. They do fit, a family friend has one in a mint soft top 110 and it goes like ****e off a shovel (untuned) My dad used to have one in a Cobra (very tuned) and it was a lovely engine, he's now considering that or a bored rover v8 for the 90 so will let you know the outcome in a few weeks. I believe the chevy is a lot heavier than the rover v8 though (150kg+)

Yeah but that engine note is worth it lol. Keep finding myself looking at chevy tahoe's,blazers, and the subs. Heavy on fuel but great looking machanies.

chevy block/heads are steel so it is a LOT heavier!

tbh i dont see the attraction of having the chevy, would it not be better to try to track down a tvr 5.0 if you want some grunt?

but then i guess the chevy is cheaper and comes with more torques than a tvr engine.

hmmm :D

and the chevy wouldnt be much less economical than a rover. at least you'd never need to take it above 2200rpm!

overfinch used the 5.7 smallblock in their conversions for rangey classic, look up some reviews from passed years, i believe top gear did a road test on one at some point as well.......... personally i would love to find an overfinch classic to restore, last one i saw for salw was 2k and still in good nick :( didnt have the pennies to buy.
