On another forum they said exactly the same, so to prevent WWIII breaking out the title was changed to 4x4 MARKET (South). Low and behold, no sooner had I done that and somebody posted that technically it is classed as Southwest, and then went on the explain why. Went right over my head, but there you go ... most things do!!! :(

The question was asked earlier - "how busy are these markets"? Don't know is the short answer, the 16th March market at Bournemouth is the first of the series. Should be good judging by the feedback, and I suppose Sodbury cancelling their Newbury dates this year will help? We'll see. Still gutted no Sodbury though, I needed some RR Classic bits 'n' bobs myself. That's life!

To save a wasted journey …

Please be aware the 4x4 MARKET at Matchams Stadium & Leisure Park, Hurn Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH24 2BT is Sunday 16th March 2008,

NOT this coming Sunday 9th March as incorrectly listed by LRO (Land Rover Owner) magazine April issue. Sorry, their mistake not mine!

Sorry, but the Tulley’s Farm event is off. This is the official announcement:-

It is with regret the 4x4 MARKET event scheduled for 18th May at Tulley’s Farm nr. Crawley, West Sussex HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Unfortunately this is due to a clash of dates with Sodbury Land Rover Sortout who recently have announced plans not only to move their date to 18th May 2008, but also their venue from Berkshire to Hampshire!

To quote the organisers: “A fledgling series of events such as 4x4 MARKET cannot hope to compete with the likes of Sodbury Land Rover Sortout, an event which has been going for well over a decade … especially as it’s now being held within the same region! We are sorry to disappoint everyone but it wouldn’t be fair on either the sellers or buyers to run an event compromised in such a manner, therefore the decision was made to cancel what otherwise would have been an great new event for the region. It's annoying and frustrating, but what can you do? That's life I suppose!”

This decision does not affect other 4x4 MARKET events which will still take place as advertised at various venues across the country.

Wasn't that inpressed when i turned up to Tulleys farm a couple of weeks ago only to find it had been cancelled !!!

Wansn't the only person who didn't know either.Loads of landies turned up and then drove off again.

I would recommend checking whether the events in the list are actually taking place before you travel.....

Just a brief notification to say the latest 4x4 Market scheduled for this coming Sunday 31st August at Cowm Quarry, Whitworth near Rochdale is all on track and going ahead as planned ... with the off-road course still reduced at only £15 play-all-day as advertised. An ex-stone quarry, it's a cracking site for off-roading!

Information about this or any other event can be found via the event listings at 4x4 Calendar . co . uk Simply look up the date for details.

That’s it ... ta!

As for Tulleys - sorry Bradley. Awkward position for me because if I had opened the gates there would have been nothing to see Feel bad but I really had no choice.

Yep, best phone first for any event ... just in case. May want to check 4x4calendar.co.ukas well in future. When informed the listings can at times show postponements or cancellations within minutes of being announced.

My comments posted on Difflock in referance to these events;.......

As a registered "tight-arse" I think that we're being ripped off!

£5 / person (over 16) so if you take your 2 teenage lads, it's £15 to get through the gate, for what? to look at what is nothing more than a car boot sale with a lean towards 4x4 vehicles.
WHY £5 per person?
Would the extra people be taking up seats on a ride?
Is there tea and bacon butties included with admission?
Is there ANY extra expenditure due to more than 1 person in the attending vehicle?

The answer is NO, it's just a way that the organiser can get more of your hard earned £££'s from you.

Once this year of "first times" has come and gone, I think the organisers will find the numbers will dwindle considerably.
Sorry, but I'll keep my £15 and use it elsewhere.

£5 per vehicle I would stretch to, for once to see if it's any good.
