In high ratio I press the yellow lever but it does not stay down so no 4WD. Does any one know a possible reason.

Also in Low ratio I had 2 ( same side F & R) then 3 wheels spinning on snow today, is this possible?

Cheers and sorry if this has been asked before but could not find any answers.

when in low it is allways in 4wd ,high 2wd until yellow knob depressed in 4wd both axles must drive so possible to stand still with a front and back wheel spinning if 3 wheels spinning not in 4wd or front half shaft bust ,free wheeling hubs ,some times front of gear box output housing needs lubricating as shfts come through housing and can sieze not allowing 4wd to engage properly

but there are diffs all around  so if one front wheel has no traction, and the other does then surely you could get both back and one front spinning?

if one of the halfshafts are gone, then the diff won't have power on either side. so therefore neither wheel on that axle will spin

if 3 are spinning then its very likely that 4wd is working on all four wheels, but one of the wheels has more grip than the rest, hence that one not spinning

Thanks for that, so no real probs, just diffs working - got to get locking ones.

Still can not sus out why 4wd lever will not lock down in high.

Forgot to mention - series 11 with v8
