*My nearly finished Lightweight 1969 vintage with a series III gearbox has developed problem with the 4wd due to lack of use.
Initially after not driving it for a year (worked before) it was stuck in low range so I took the floor up and removed the metal dust cover for the selector shafts on the end of the transfer box (as someone mentioned on a previous post) and as expected the shafts were gunky and rusted.
So cleaned them up a bit and knocked the top one (not the one connected to the red lever) back in. This made the other top shaft (red lever one) pop out and put the landy back into high range 2wd.
Now the problem in it won't go into low range unless I keep the yellow lever pressed down. And when this is done it's only in 2wd low range.
So basically : How do I get that jammed shaft to pop out so 4wd and low range works??
I'd love to know.
