i brought a p38 2 years ago, and joined this site to gain info, and help keep her going, and love reading every ones adventures,,, lol.. However apart from a re synic, ( info supplied by j the range) only had to change water pump and trackrod ends, .... lucy u i here you say,..lol:D..... no real issues to mention, However a 4.6 has come up, with lpg, 1996 model, with a suspect slipped liner, from previous posts i gather its a thor engine but not sure as not looked into it much,
Now im thinking of buying it to repair, looking a rebuild rather than replacement, if it has a slipped liner , how can these slip??? can they be replaced??? anyone carried out this task before???? any tips would be very welcome, or would it be better and cheaper to get a second hand bottom end??? I know you did yours j so all help welcomed,
Lastly, how much would it be worth with a knackered enging???
n reg, poor paint work, 20" rims complete with scuffs, will need new tyers, electric seats, guy says suspension is ok , ??????. i have offered him 500 quid???? he wants a grand , but i know thats tooooooo much
help me out guys ,,,,, many thaks Rob

My 4.6 is M reg '95 and I was going to get shot of it when it's MOT was due a couple of weeks ago. However it only failed on emissions and anti-roll bar bushes. A new set of cats and bushes and it's legal again. I almost let it go for £500 and now I'm glad I didn't. I only have to sort out the slow eas and It's sorted. So I would say by your description you should be able to pick up a better example.

if it has sliped liner you need to put top head liners in,[ cost about £100 each. i replaced my bottom end for £500.
i think £500 is a good offer and would not go anymore, thats my two pence worth..
