Heater problem L405

Good morning all I have recently purchased a 2012 4.4 tdi L404 Range Rover. lovely car but the heater fan has started to squeal has anyone changed or replaced one of these it looks different than the L322 set up and a tad more expensive. I still have the 4.6 p38 so never stuck any help would be grateful

Hi mate, not sure many on here run a l405, have you tried joining fullfatrr.co.uk? They have a wiki section with workshop manuals available for free download

A private sale I assume? Otherwise chuck it back at the dealer.

I got it in the UK as I prefer right hand drive so don't want to go back to the garage I have had for 8 months so don't think they would be interested. I have a disability that its easier for me to drive a RHD.

If you can actually get to see the fan assembly perhaps via the pollen filters, you may be able to spray the motor shaft with penetrating oil which will lube the bearing. It sounds unlikely but I have actually done this with success.

Hi Mark will send picks ASAP we went over to Corsica for a holidbag so still traveling . Its a strange thing its a 2012 4.4 TDI Westminster but all the pictures of the pollen filter internal one show its behind the parcel shelf well not on mine have a fuse box no sing of the filter I have had a look on the internet but all show the same both before and after 2012. Anyway how are you and the family. we have been quiet on the social front for a while as Gill has not been well

Big changes at this end on so many ways but still fighting and getting busier in the garage. I hope Gill is on the mend
