A up! I've got a 200tdi defender and my dad has a 4.2 lse range rover. I bought a very late 300 tdi auto disco with edc pump with the idea of putting it into my 90.
Now my dad would swap me his 4.2 and auto box for my disco lump and box.
The questions I have are-
1 My defender has a td5 rear tub fitted and I've just bought a td5 diesel tank for it. The rear chassis is a bit knackerd and I will be replacing it so would a td5 rear quarter chassis fit my old chassis so I could fit the td5 diesel tank properly.
2 can you use a td5 diesel tank for petrol? What pump would I need?(I have a 300tdi plastic tank also)
3 if I remove my old under seat diesel tank could I fit a LPG tank in its place? I don't want to put one in the back as I want to fit forward facing seats for the kids. Or where else could I fit an LPG tank?
4 would I have to move the engine and gearbox mounts for the v8 lump and box? It's got a 200tdi in at the minute.
5 what sort of mpg would I get 9-13 like the lse range rover or more because the defender is lighter? (It would be on range rover running gear)
6 am I nuts and should I just stick with the diesel:D

2 can you use a td5 diesel tank for petrol? What pump would I need?(I have a 300tdi plastic tank also) yes you can and use a pump for a v8 lump if you can as td5 pumps run high pressure
3 if I remove my old under seat diesel tank could I fit a LPG tank in its place? I don't want to put one in the back as I want to fit forward facing seats for the kids. Or where else could I fit an LPG tank? yes it would work where the old tank would go, seen it done a few times
4 would I have to move the engine and gearbox mounts for the v8 lump and box? It's got a 200tdi in at the minute. yes you need to change them to suit the v8
5 what sort of mpg would I get 9-13 like the lse range rover or more because the defender is lighter? (It would be on range rover running gear) you wouldn't notice much difference
