Defender Fuel Tank Cradle Question ~

I'm replacing the fuel tank on my 1993 Defender 110 200tdi.

The fuel tank cradle that's on the vehicle simply won't fit with the new (Allmakes) tank.

My question: Is the cradle optional..?

And why the Hell won't it fit..?!?

Latest britpart tank wrong shape so wouldn’t allow fitment of tank cradle/guard.

How does it not fit? Pic?
Sure it could be fettled a bit to suit shirely.

So I am guessing the tank fits but the cradle doesn't, but that sounds so wrong.

Allmakes, frogs island, terrarusts which you watch orama, bearmach all the same stuff.For clarity ALL are total garbage!
Britpart may have a revised version now, so check with them....
Or ask LR workshop hes a great guy and will steer you right.

The tank I've bought is Allmakes.

Probablt exactly the same as all the other 'cheap' brands.

Not sure about the Cradle.

It's just a bit too short, front to back...

The bolt holes therefore don't line up.

I take it you are talking about the tank?

Elongate the holes? when you bolt up the cradle it will all hold in place?

Can you weld?

indeed, and as i said Allmakes are total garbage, sorry for the bad news! I sure you can make it fit, its just a tank!
