300tdi no ignition lights and engine wont start

hi guys,

problem is when i turn the ignition on there is no battery light and the glow plug dash light flickers on then off straight away, its the only dash light that comes on.

on another problem the engine itself was turning over very slowly and wont turn at all now.

there is power to the starter.
good battery and all connections are good.
checked main fuses and all are fine and have power.
the relay under the bonnet near the fuse box is clicking as is the one in the passenger side footwell (the yellow one).
power reads 12volts to the glow plugs.


any help greatly appreciated as am at wits end!

Your battery is not 'good'.

the battery is good. we have tested it and put the battery from my 90 on, with the exact same result.

engine to chassis/body earth ?

If your starter motor was playimg up it could be that this caused the solenoid to fry and causing elictrical problem. I have had that before. 2nd hand starter and all was well.
