300tdi lost power steering

Hi everyone, had my defender 300tdi on full lock for a wee bit off road and after taking off lock realised i had lost power steering. there are no signs of a leak at a glance and fluid level seems to be ok. just after some advice as to what it could possibly be. i.e pump, box etc.

How long is a wee bit?
Rough rule of thumb on any vehicle with pas never hold it on full lock for more than 30secs as you can boil the fluid.

Was more than likely longer than 30secs

What he said .. check fluid level, colour and smell. Frankly I'd drain it and refill with new ..

So I could of just boiled the fluid and hopefully all will be good with fresh fluid and bled? Or am I being far to optimistic hahah

If you're lucky, yes!

If not you could have also screwed up the innards of the PS pump or box.

Hmm still no luck. I've quite possibly knackered something but what's more likely to go the pump or box? When I open the bleed screw only a little bit of fluid burst out on left hand lock but right hand next to nothing comes through

is the pas pump pulley spinning on the shaft

Yeah pulley is spinning with belt

He meant is the pully turning AND the shaft it's fitted to.
I fink.....

Fitted a pump at the weekend and all is good again.
Old pump was fairly demolished
