300tdi fuel pump wiring

hi everyone, will my 300 run as normal if i just live the stop solonoid up and leave the main plug disconnected or do i really need to wire the plug up thats connected to the pump. have had it running on the floor with 1 wire but just on tickover. plan is to use lump in a v8 model.

If its the non edc version then the plug with the three (I think?) wires is part of the awful egr system and not involved in the normal running of the engine.

what vehicle is it in? afaik the edc version never went into the fenders, but was on all the automatic discos, and some late 300tdi discos.

Easy way to check, do you have a wire coming off one of your injectors (last one IIRC) if not, its just the throttle position sensor for the EGR, unplug the thing.

engine from my m reg disco now fitted into a v8 disco. its a early 1 and no edc so easy on that part. but now fitted into a v8 shell and poxy thing just wont run right and wont rev so goin try a new fuel supply as thinking its got water in tank (tdi tank) and sucking air from somewhere.

if wire on no 4 ijector is off or coil inside injector not working it affecs turbo coming in on kick down is this true

Nowt better to do than scroll through 10 year old threads
I do know that the injectors are different & if you fit 3 standard injectors you get more power (in 3 cylinders lol)
With the wire off mine it would run but wouldnt rev, like limp mode.
