300Tdi EGR fitting

When I took the EGR widgets off my 300Tdi, left over, on the top of the block was an electrical fitting. Is this a temperature or oil pressure sensor?

Is it the electric off the EGR is from the IP, if so it does nothing now that the EGR is off.
