The only reason you dont rotate backwards is then you are using the slack side of the cam belt for measurement purposes which may not be as accurate, in reality it wont make a toss worth of difference but if you have to turn it backwards just turn it back a bit more than needed then turn it forwards again.

Thanks guys for all your help. I hope to get back to the Disco later this week and follow James' instructions of an additional turn on the crank after TDC to get the pump pulley into the correct spot and re-time the injector pump, as well as, check all the fuses.

Iirc the edc pump has two feeds, one for the std stop solenoid and the other lot of wires for the pump itself, you should be able to hear the pump clicking away to itself when it has power.

Yesterday I set about timing the injector pump again, and this time I made sure that the slot on the injector pump pulley and the mark on the flywheel where in the right spot. I adjusted the position of the injector pump and thing time the engine started. Thanks for the help.

Now, the glow plugs are not working. When I turn the key to warm the plugs I get no voltage at the glop plugs. All the fuses are good, I'm wondering if it is the glow plug timer that is the problem. Where is the fusible link located on the NO wire that goes to the glow plug timer relay?

I put power to pin 85 on the glow plug timer relay and I hear a click. With the ign key on I have power to pin 85 WG wire but I do not have power to the NO wire that comes from the fusible link.

EDIT - My wife found the fusible link; it's blown, need a replacement.
