Hi There,

I have a little question, how do I know I am getting the throttle to fully open? How can I make sure the throttle stop has not been set to stop the throttle travel too early?

if you look at the piccie you will see I have highlighted the stop I am talking about.

( oh and if anyone ever feels there landy is not giving enough power, check the throttle cable is tight, found my throttle cable was as loose as a ....... , I will let you think of a metaphor, So readjusted and bingo a landie that accelerates again, LOL)

Dunno....mines marked with paint......I assume from factory setting but Peeps do adjust them to restrict revs for MOT. You'd have to be a bit of a muppet not to reset it though

Cheers BB,

Never heard of peeps setting them to have lower revs for the MOT, interesting idea, but yeah gotta admit you would have to be a muppet to not reset it,

just wondering how I would know it is set correctly, and that some " muppet" has not been adjusting it before, one way or the other?

Cheers

Neil

Like I said mines marked but I guess looking at another Tdi should tell you if it's wildly out.

There's 3 different adjustments for tweaking a Tdi pump for power.....none of which is touching the throttle stop

Cheers BB,

I am quite happy with the power of the Landie, LOL, well as happy as I can be. It aint a V8 its an old diesel, cannot ask for too much,:)

I read all about the pump / turbo adjustment, but whilst I was looking at the reason mine suddenly lost power ( loose throttle cable adjuster ) i was left wondering how do I know that the throttle stop position is correct?

Just one of those, mmmm I wonder ? moments / questions.

But as you say I will check to see if there is a paint mark on it,

Cheers

Neil
