300tdi big end question

Hi all
1. how can you tell if your ends are gone

2. if they are gone can i fit new ones in the car or do i have to take the engine out :doh:

main brgs knock under load big ends under over run if big ends they have gone you can change them in situ but usualy wears both and if knocking crank usually needs doing,mains wear the most on lower shell big ends top shell

you wouldnt be able to do muber 5 as it has seal housing bolted from flywheel side

OK so that miens engine out,
I'm not 100% that it is knocking just when i pull away it just sounds loud but not shaw as this is my first disco i have had

get your oil pressure checked if okay so is brgs,and give more info
