Does it feel like the engine? Mine has a similar fault, but it feels more like its running on 3 cylinders.
Also not all the time, can be great one day then not so great the next.
I have started to avoid supermarket fuel which seems to help.

prop or output shaft. most likely prop when you say you've checked em. was vehicle in neutral with handbrake off?? and have you checked that they're well greased. ??

You need to take the propshafts off to check the uj's properly sounds like one is starting to sieze up.

I just did my tappets and that smoothed out my Discovery no end.
They were a bloody mile out, one valve cap missing and one turned into a polo.
