Hi
Have a 300 Tdi - with a bypassed alarm system (Presume one of its many owners had an issue!). The interior lights do not work automatically - I assume they are wired via the Land Rover Alarm - which isn't working. Anyone know (short of re-wiring the lot) of a fix?

Secondly there is a black box (10x10x3 cm) mounted in the battery compartment, with six black wires leaving - Is this the remains of a control for a winch?

Thanks

Paul

(Happy for PM -as it involves the "security" system)!

black box if secured to front of seat box is alarm spider control unit is behind dash , its what cuts earth to starter relay and live to stop solenoid etc

The wiring diagram shows the interior light bulb attached straight to live on one side and going to 3 locations on the other:

1 - straight to earth (ON)
2 - nowhere (OFF)
3 - the door neg switch (Door control)

There should be switch on each door which basically has one wire coming from it. That wire doesn't touch anything if the door is closed but if open the switch shorts against the body and gives a negative... Connect both these wire together and then on the the 3rd connection of the interior light switch. This will give the bulb negative when the doors are open.
