300 gearbox to 200 engine

hi dos any1 know if a 300 gearbox will go stright on a 200 engine and if a 200 box will fit 300 engine ??????? i woz useing a disco 200 on and offroad went to kirton haveing a play wen i went to reverse NOTHING WOOOOPS !!!!!!!! forward gears hi and low work 101% but no reverse didnt no if a 300 wud go stright on r not at the moment its parked up going to tray back it and use only offroad so now im running a 300 on the road just not shore which box to get 4 a spare !!!!!!!!:blabla:

In a Discovery the LT77 and R380 boxes are interchangable. Both boxes go on both engines and visa versa. I've done both ways. You will need to swap handbrake and speedo housing as the handbrake cable and speedo senders are different between the two boxes.

The actual gearbox mounting brakets are different between boxes but again both are interchangeable......you'll see what I mean if you have two complete boxes to compare.

thanks great stuff !!!!!! so they is no real proplems then the speedo ant a proplem for the 200 thats just for offroad thats all but always handy to know they work both ways cheers !!!!!!!
