The title says it all really. I've been thinking how nice it would be to have a canvas tilt on my 3-door. It would mean I could safely leave the hard top at home and go out and play and not worry too much about rain!

Also, a traditional tilt would enable me to roll up the sides.

I would have thought this would be "not too difficult" particularly on cars with the roof rails, as you could use this as an exo-skeleton to suspend a tilt from? If you were very clever, you could even retain the glass rear screen, but perhaps a canvas and clear plastic rear screen would be fine (particularly as you'd probably roll it up out of the way most of the time).

It may be the sort of thing that @Diesel Do might be interested in doing? Bet Exmoor wouldn't be interested, as ours is the wrong type of Land Rover ;)

Perhaps I should just try and DIY? How hard can it be...? LOL

I'm sure you could fabricobble something together Rob. It can't be that difficult, once you have the basic framework made up. ;)

I think that is going to be the best option Nodge. I did drop Exmoor a line - they're not interested but at least gave me a lead to a bespoke maker.

What I have in mind really would not be too difficult to make (famous last words) - but heavy duty canvas will be challenging to sew would an industrial machine. That I don't have.

I guess I could make up a pattern out of scrap bed sheets to prove the concept? Or is that a stoooopid idea?

Rareness main reason. Plus I like the idea of being able to roll up the sides and rear (I wouldn't necessarily use the rear window glass. Plus I could have it made in a natural canvas/tan colour which would be nicer aesthetically (if harder to clean). Plus, using the roof rack as an exoskeleton, it would be lighter too (not that this is a very major buying criteria!)

But I very much doubt that I can get one made for less than what I paid for the car... I'll keep an eye on that listing, but I kinda think that it won't be going for beer money...
