hi guys,

i noticed over the weekend a small patch of damp tarmac under the disco, crawled underneath and it seems to be coming from the bottom right of the radiator (as you stand infront of the disco facing it) where a hard pipe screws into the rad. I cleaned all the area and was able to pinch up the bottom pipe just a little but i still have this very small drip, over two days without moving or starting the tarmac has a 3inch damp patch but isn't a puddle so its a very small drip.

the strange thing is my coolant is staying the same level, so's my power steering fluid (the power steering resevior is directly above this area but seems fine) and so is my brake fluid, Its like a blueish water and i'm not sure what it could be and won't have chance to get it up in the air for a more detailed look til the weekend but does anyone have any ideas what the bottom right pipe is? its a hard metal pipe just like A/C ones and my disco is a 94 M 3.9 with A/C but it seems strange for the A/C to connect into the radiator.

maybe i'm being dumb lol but any ideas what to look for?

cheers
Jason

this is why i'm puzzled because its not oil thats dripping, its a bluish liquid, i'm wondering if its something like the pipes on the bottom of the PAS reservior leaking and its running down the rad but i'm not loosing any PAS fluid.

I'm guessing it might be marking its territory and at least with it leaking i know there's fluid in there lol

Antifreeze was my thought at first, but i'm not loosing any coolant, i actually got a black marker out and marked the bottle, didn't move the disco all weekend and checked it yesterday evening and its the same level.

At the weekend i'll get it on ramps and have a good look and turn of everything to see whats loose, I might even change all the coolant because i've got some lovely pink stuff in the garage, see if the blue drip turns pink

My guess is a coolant leak. Probably only leaks very slightly, and only when cold. (pipe expands when hotto plug any leakage?)

A little damp patch leak from a cooling system that holds many litres, you probably wont notice much difference in coolant level.

Can you try tightening the hose clips up? What does the rubber look like, does it look perished?
