Hi All,
My Discovery 1 has developed an intermittent starting problem, especially when cold, it appears to flood then takes an age to fire. Once the vehicle has started, it could be about a fortnight before the problem happens again. Also, I've been told that a V8 starts on just 4 cylinders then the remaining 4 kick in . Can anyone confirm this.
Thanks in anticipation

That's normal if u flood a petrol engine "it appears to flood then takes an age to fire".

If there's no spark at the plugs then it will flood with fuel, so what u need to do is find why there's no sparks, could be as simples as iffy coil top connections or condensation on the leads.

+1 full leccy service and quality parts. Its getting damp and your getting weak or erratic sparking then flooding.

Sorry for the knob reply, it was reference to the designed to start on 4 cylinder s bit

Have a rattle through wot the guy above have said ,
Intermittent faults are useally a pain to find and sods law only happen when you dont want them to
