Hi guys
I'm new to all this so please ignore my ignorance 😁
I have a 2009 discovery 4 tdv6 with intermittent starting issues. When OK it starts and runs with no issues in fact it's great to to drive, on short journeys (5 minutes max) it's fine starts no problem after stopping but if its around 20 minutes it doesn't want to start unless it left to cooled long enough then starts no problem, I have put it on the diagnostic machine and I get (P062E Injector control module - bank 2- performance problem) it's been to a landrover specialist with landrover machines and they can't pin point the issue and I am hoping and praying someone can help me out as I'm driving a volvo at the moment 🙄 😂 😂

@gstuart is your man for this, now I've tagged him he may come on and help.
But it sounds like it may be a dry joint in a ciruit board or summat. or if it has an IAT on that side.
But I don't have a D4 or a D3 only D2 TD5.
Best of luck!:)

That sounds like the "classic" Crank sensor fault some have, where it breaks down when hot.

But as you have a fault code showing which doesn't match  Have you tried reading the codes when it is in the Non start situation?

But I dont know the D4 or the TDV6. So am just chucking in something that may not be related at all:oops:.

Hi J
Reading the codes in a non start situation is not something I've thought of 🤔 but might be worth a try 🤷‍♀️.
I have a mechanic mate who works on volvos thinks there could be a broken wire in the injector loom somewhere or a faulty ecu which sounds like a complete pain of a job!
But I will try your idea first.. Start with the easy stuff 😂
Thanks

Hi

plus 1 ^^^

indeed check ur loom first , also to assist number 2 bank is ur passenger side , plse check to ensure that the loom isnt going to ground using a test light

alas u might req new injectors but no point going there until u double check that the loom is all ok

plus to add the injectors , loom and HPFP are different from 2007 so just wished to mention that

here’s also a parts catalogue link

if u have decent diagnostics that has live data for the injectors , with the engine running try moving the injector loom to see if the engine sound or live data changes, also should display ohms for each one

on testing if u do find an error within the loom u may then have to go back to the ECM module that sits behind the battery , as u can get water ingress but easier to test at the injector end first , diagnostics will be able to tell u a lot via live data

just thought, did u happen to get the injector Cylinder Balancing Offset values plse as one may stand out

plse also ensure ur battery is fully charged , should be at 12,6 Vdc with the engine off

hope that helps and plse let us know how u get on
