as above i needs some pics of some 3.9 disco complete engines/bays pref with gas fitted, need to compare some dodgy looking water pipes that looked to have been bodged

Here you go. Hope sthese help although its a 4.0 in a D2 and I dont know if there will be any difference
IMAG001 shows the heater pipes along the top of the right hand rocker cover going through the bulkhead to the heater. There is a "T" piece in each one (light grey) to supply the vaporiser. The flow and return to the vap. pass between the bulkhead and the rocker covers
IMAG002 shows the top of the plenum with some gas trickery on top (dont know what it is but it has 8 pipes coming off it so I guess its the supply to each injector)
IMAG003 shows the gas trickery from another angle.
IMAG004 shows the vaporiser (behind the ABS modulator) with a gas filter (I think) and the heated flow and return pipes.

Sorry about the quality of the pics but it was dark. Hope you can see what you need. If not let me know and I will take some more later in the week during the day.

Mine is different to the pictures above, the hoses to the vapouriser are both teed off the same pipe, the heater inlet.

As mine is currently in bits I am considering taking the heater inlet pipe direct to the vapouriser and then from the vap to the heater inlet which avoids T pieces and should, I believe, heat the vapouriser quicker.

If they ere both Teed off the same pipe then it would not work as the water would just stay in the heater pipe. Unless you mean the vaporiser is in series with the heater, so its more that the inlet pipe it cut and diverted off to the vaporiser.

Funnily enough today I did just that with my D2, but on the heater outlet. So its now in series. I did that because I felt in this recent cold weather the heater has not been as hot as it could have been. Might make no difference, but we shall see :)

you need to use t pieces as if you go through vapouriser with same pipe in out then to heater ,you will get no flow when heaters on cold, they work well enough with t pieces in both pipes , mine rune very well from cold as water doesnt need to be hot for vapouriser to work

I was under the impression that Disco 1 heater temp is controlled by air flow not coolant flow, and the matrix is always hot.
