I can vouch for the reliability mine has only had two temp sensors over 8 years of owning it

thanks guys, it was just an option. my engine,9.35 cr has started knocking when up to temp (bottom end) and have a low comp motor i was going to use while i rebuilt the other. i've managed to get a lot of the items required for the rebuild together, cam, followers, adjustable steel timing gear, most of the gaskets and seals etc. would it be foolish to not pull the heads off while i'm at it and re ring it, bearing in mind it doesn't use any oil or water. also, where would be the best source for the main and big end bearings please? may go 14 cux route as have been offered a 3.9 serp lump with suspected hgf and all necessaries, opinions?

3.9 could be pours block so expensive route to go if it is
To be honest there is not a lot to be gained from fancy cam pulleys I always fit standard chain and gears only swapping the 3.5/3.9 nylon gear for q steel one give better longevitys

understood on the 3.9. it's a cloyes set i've had lying around so may as well use it. think its +or- 4 degrees on crank pulley, 3 key ways.
