i have a RR 3.5 efi engine in a ser 2
there is power to the coil and into the distributor cap but no power out so no spark. fitted another rotor arm, disrubitor cap,ht leads and plugs still no spark the coil has wires going into a box i presume this is the controller for the electric ignition this has wires going to the distributor so i am presuming it must be one of these can i test them if so how.or could i fit good old points and get over the problem this way
Thanks

Sounds like you are talking about the ignition amplifier, there were as far as I know two types, a remote amplifier which is what I think you are describing or an integrated amplifier that is attached to the body of the distributor.

It is possible that you need a new one, they have been known to give trouble. If that isn't it you may need to check the ignition circuit from end to end and make sure everything is up to spec.

If you look on rave or even in Haynes you will find all the necessary tests for your ignition system, all you need is a multi meter and some patience.
Good luck.
