So I have a 1993 sisu with a rover v8. I'm not sure the exact engine model number, but it will not start. When the key is turned it kicks over, but no spark, and no fuel... there have been 3 mechanics to look at this vehicle before me and they have not been able to get it running. Distributor had been replaced with a 3 wire Distributor instead of the original 2 wire Distributor it came with. It also has a new coil. I have no voltage at the coil, and no spark at the plugs even when I put constant 12V to the coil. Does anyone have any suggestion? Is there a module that needs to be reset or replaced? The engine is in a 1993 sisu na-140.

Pardon my ignorance, but WTF is a sisu o_O
'Oh & welcome to the forum, though it's traditional to introduce yourself in the 'intro. section.

Could be ign switch give the coil a direct supply to coil and see if it starts gets a spark ..if you get a spark and no start give it a bast of easy start...is it carbs? and does it have a ballast resistor fitted?...also make sure wire from starter motor is connected to coil it gives stronger voltage to coil when starting...

So it ended up being the previous mechanic put the distributor in 180° out, and then proceeded to re wire the batteries to a 12 volt config instead of leaving them in the proper 24 volt config... got it running, set the timing, and it sounded great! But then yesterday it decided to die on me again... I'm thinking it may have jumped timing? Does that tend to happen with these engines? I don't think the timing chain has ever been replaced, and tge way you have to drive this thing is between 3k and 4200 rpm.

To answer previous question, it is fuel injected. The engine itself is a 1991 rover 3.9 v8.
