3.0 td6 Discovery hse lux - Air con compressor fault - is it a cover up?!

Good afternoon, I have recently discovered that our air con compressor is not working. 2018 model Discovery. The main dealership are denying any 'bulletin' for this model - but I have heard that it is a well known fact that a group of apprentices - at the point of manufacture made an error and there is a note that if there is a twisted pipe - which we had - then the compressor should be replaced. This did not happen and the main dealership are denying any such notice. Can any of you guys help me please?! I have searched the internet, but obviously not coming up with much. Many thanks, Jess.
