Hi.
I did a quick search but didnt see the info i need
My 2A has the two fw2 lucas wiper system
One wiper arm has a small screw to secure it to the wiper shaft
One of wiper motors has a threaded collar on the shaft that would secure a wiper arm to it?

Im not interested in the period "correct" wiper arm style
What do I need to order to make my wipers work?

Thanks in advance

It might be helpful if you tell us exactly what is wrong with the wipers, does the shaft turn but not grip the arm or what.

I would pull the bush with the small bolt out of the wiper arm and then refit it in a position where you can get a spanner on the bolt to tighten when you get it onto the shaft.

I only have one wiper arm
Can anyone tell me the part numbers i need to order new wiper arms for this style of wiper motor?

This is my invoice from Craddocks...

And yes like a duffer I did only order one wiper blade:oops:
As it happens, I just bought a set of spoon type wipers and the blades for them, because the Series had been fitted with the later type with the splined adaptor. The changeover year for the arms and blades was 1964, and I assume that they changed in September, for the new reg plates.
But ours is early 64, so should have the spoon type. I was a bit shocked, they seemed a lot of money for wipers, but they do appear to be made of stainless, so should last for ever.

Also, as far as I know, it is legal to run the vehicle with one wiper, so long as the other one is not fitted. This is because the passenger wiper was an optional extra when the vehicle was built. Not certain what date that ends, though.

I ordered the extra one when I realised what I'd done

The arms on the black ones were to long and couldn't be adjusted, they were for the later single wiper motor models where the spindle goes through the bulkhead and not through the windscreen surround so I've got a pair of them sitting around doing nothing anorl

I got two as well. It looks better, even if not a legal requirement. Ours has the two separate wiper motors, and the later arms don't work that well with them.

Worth spending the money on yours, I think. It is extremely clean and tidy for a vehicle that age.
