2" body lift and a camel cut.............. your tyres are about 33 1/2" in diameter 4" larger than the originals

it easier to fit arhces than bodylift, but if you want to retain the oem look then bodylift it has to be
i have 80mm bump stop and my 33s still rub a little on full twist, but its just about right (i have arches on)
dont want to fit longer bump stops if possible, best bet is to body lift and retain good articulation, i am not bodylifting cos its a fair bit of work and i want to bumpers, sliders etc to fit properly.

sliders will still fit properly as most bolt to the sill, the bumpers will just sit low
oh ans a body lift is a piece of **** to do, the hadest bit is the steering linkage(from the column to the box)

when i did it it was a bespoke setup as it was on a bobtail with 35" tyres, i was already making new brake lines and fuel lines, the only bit i forgot was the battery earth cable
the steering linkage (with the crush joint) needs to be the early type that has longer splines the other option is a universal steering rod like they use on kit cars
im still in two minds. I really dont want to chop my arches as they are in such mint condition no rust at all! I feel like a criminal. It might have to be the body lift option.
Where can you get the arches from other than ebay? £150 seems pretty steep for 4 flimsy bits of plastic

yeah they are dear mate for the arches, i paid 120 new second hand but otherwise would have had to pay full wack
they are handy though cos tbh the disco arches are too low for decent articulation with decent sized tyres
sometimes you get away withy it, but id say if youre trying to get properly tyred you'd be fitting arches and bodylift

A guy in our group has had to cut the arches as off road, it just folded them in.
Dont worry about the Speed humps get the thing offf road and see what hapens then....... if you wants the tyres you got to go for it., and if you do the camel cut and finish it off properly, ie paint ect then you should have no problems.

You have to cut right through the doors, which opens up about an inch in the double skin. I then filled this with expanding foam and profiles it when dry.
It kinda seals I think, not a major prob though.
It's not a difficult job, but when youre there with the grinder in your hand, goggles on, ready to lay into your bodywork, you kinda think 'WTF?'
