Right,
Tyres.... (Yes i have searched)
I think i have made my decision. Im going to go for 265 75 16 BFG AT on my D90 TD5 on Boost alloys (going from 235 85 16 General TRs)
It was between the 235 and 265, but think i will go for the 265s, unless i get any adverse opinions etc.
My research suggets they will fit, possibly with the steering stops needing some adjustment.
All i want to know is has anyone changed from the 235 to 265 and have they noticed any real world fuel consumption drop. I know in theory that there will be a drop as the rolling resistance will be greater, but is it noticable in the reel world. I spoke to a guy at a tyre place and he had them and said no,but in the same sentence said he didnt really monitor his consumption!! I also notice that the diameter of the 265s are slightly smaller, so again in the real world would the engine be running at higher revs, again increasing fuel consumption?
I know tyres have been done to death, but been searching for a long time and cant find the answer im looking for from the real world so to speak.
My best price is £585 fitted for the above tyres, hence why i want to be sure before i part with my hard earned!!
Also if anyone has any pics, that would be good.
Cheers
