Good morning fellas, I've got a simple question in regards the tyres.
I'm about to fit a 245/75/16 tyres on my stock discovery 2 even front bumper with fog lights, don't yet whether Cooper STmaxx or wrangler duratrac, I need to decide.
Full review of the forums suggests me there won't be any issues with about touching arches or rubbing (is this the proper word?)
But my concern is,do I have to modify the spare tyre support?
Any experience with this?
Many thanks in advance

All i can tell you is that i fitted 255/70/16 Coopper Discoverer AT3s which has 10mm less in diameter but 10mm wider than the 245/75 and they rub just a bit at full lock, the 245/75 might be at the limit IMO.... the worst thing i've ever done cos the EGT rose with 100*C under load, coolant temp greater with around 5*C, the consumption increased and the central console gets hotter, i'm up to get rid of them and fit again some std dimension tyres (255/65/16)

:(:(OMG,
I didn't expect that answer
So I'll probably give up as next week I'm going for a 1500 miles road trip, there was an little off road stage in the middle, but I'll avoid it, I can take any risk so close to the date I set off.

Thanks a lot for your answer

I didnt expect that outcome either cos there are many reports that bigger tyres are OK etc... though i'll accept better reviews from those who have EGT and coolant gauges fitted cos then the difference is clearely visible otherwise it's just a matter of presumption based on the fact that the vehicle still runs after many miles but IMO greater EGT and coolant temp are like rust... they will slowly kill it for good

Don't tease us, where to?

I'm getting married two weeks on Saturday, I'll take the ferry to Spain, then to my village and we're coming back driving across France and crossing through Eurotunnel, great fun and the car full loaded with chorizo LOL!

In Spain I'll go with the lads for some off roading

My disco is completely stock so I don't know what to do.

By the way, are Wrangler duratrac noisy on road?

Congratulations, hope everything goes well. Post some pics up of where you've been when you get back. It's good to see them doing what they do best.

Mine is tock too from suspension point of view(i have some power and cooling tuning though) ... find some decent 255/65 tyres and you'll be on the safe side
