I have Maxxis Bravo AT 771 in 225/60/17 on my Trek rims.View attachment 118469

I like the 60 profile as they give me slightly better steering response.
I bought my Maxxis in 2012 for about £65 each fitted. I've been 35K miles on then since then.

Next time I change them, I'll get Yokohama Geolander AT-S 102.
These are better in the wet and have slightly softer side walls.

Do you have a link to these?

So, I have got some 17inch rims sorted and now got to decide about tyres, have got 215/65/16 on at present these are approx 26inches tall with current tyres, how much taller will a 225/60 & 225/65 be? I don't like the massive gap in the wheel arches would like to fill it as much as possible,
I still can't decide on tyres does an AT loose much grip when wet on road, I would guess I am around 80% road use and then just on mud and grassy roadways.

Standard 215/65/16 tyres are around 27 inches tall.
225/65/17 are about 28.5 inches tall.

How the tyres behave on wet tarmac is down to the tyre compound and tread design.
The Yokohama AT'S I linked are better on wet tarmac than the Maxxis 771. Compare the wet grip ratings and choose something that is rated C or higher. ;)

Just fitted 225/65/17 AT tyres, they look great. Still got room between strut and they are sitting in centre of wheel arch
