Hmmm having looked into it it is posibal but the engine needs a fook load of modding done to it

Just a few things

Lightened and balanced crank
Lightened and balanced flywheel
Better injectors and injector pump
Race spec cam shaft
Uprated valve springs,collets and caps
Up rated valve pushrods
Forged pistons lightened
Forged conrods
Ceramic big end shells
VNT turbo
Port and polish head
Improved head bolts
Composite head gasket
Full width intercooler
Ally race spec radeator and oil cooler (its going to get frigging hot otherwise)

Then you have to ask is the gearbox up to it as well as the rest of the drive train.

This is just to name a few it would be much easier to tune a V8 IMO.

Get more put a v8 and easier , like real steel 5.0 crank and performance cam think 300bhp from memory

I am on my 4th gearbox in a year and a half.
At a guess I would say mine is running 170bhp

Well I know mine is at 148 as I tested it to set it up right. But that is before the allard intercooler went on so now it's probably up to about 150 to 152 I am getting it tested next month so will let you all know and that is more than enough I think.

Nah - if you want a 4x4 that shifts - crowbar in the drive train from a J**P......

Before yu laugh, read this....

Independent front axle, with upper and lower control arms at both sides along with an eight-percent improvement in travel compared with the solid axle of yore. The rear axle is still solid but is now located by five links, the fifth one a lateral unit acting to prevent sideways deflection.

Oh - I nearly forgot - all powered by a 5.7 litre Hemi :faint2:

and as an addendum - the Rover 3.5 V8 weighs about 500 pounds. the 5.7 hemi weighs about 480 without accessories. :D

You can see the fuel gauge going down

yeah but, no but, yeah but - in the noo electrificated versions, it shuts down 4 cylinders when not needed .

The cars that are equipped with the 5.7 liter HEMI get 15 to 17 mpg in the city and 23 to 25 mpg on the highway
You try getting that from any V8 landy

I can shut down half my cylinder aswell , call spark plugs lol! Erm yeah i knew about very clever engine , its impressive mpg when being driven sensibly considering country of origin and engine size

Pub talk maybe?

I agree with you, if you are a tuning company doing it to show what you can do then yes, but otherwise why bother

Very possibly, even if it is (not possible IMO) then why have a 4 inch lift and mud terrain tyres? :D

There's a guy on d44 forum running a defender with I think if my memory serves me right near 250 bhp from a 300 tdi it has a VNT turbo an he was saying it leaves tuned td5s for dead

Hi how come loads of people mocked me for claiming mine has that kind of bhp I dont get it,,,, it really is possible it just takes time and a bit of cash ,,,:)
