Freelander 2 (LR2) 2014 fl2 hse auto lights sensor and sat nav

Where is the sensor that turns the headlights on and also the sensor that turns the sat nav into night mode thank you

It's behind the windscreen I believe, at the top, where the rear view mirror mounts.
There's a couple of sensors there, one of them will be for ambient light measurements, there's another for rain sensing.

I'd run a diagnostic on the CJB, to see if it flags up an error on anything relevant.
